A native of Kingston, Ontario, Scott was the Pittsburgh Penguins’ 2nd round selection in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft. He was a two-time Ontario Hockey League 1st team All Star and captained the London Knights to the Memorial Cup finals in the 2012-13 season. Scott made his NHL debut with the Penguins in the 2014-15 season, he played with the Toronto Maple Leafs during the 2015-16 season and was traded to the Columbus Blue Jackets in the summer of 2016.

Internationally, Scott has represented Canada on several occasions, including at the Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament (U18) and twice as a member of Canada’s U20 team at the World Junior Championships.
