A native of Toronto, Ontario, Darren capped off a successful five-year OHL career as a member of Erie Otters, winning the 2017 OHL Championship. Darren enjoyed an outstanding overage season in Erie, where he led all OHL defensemen in scoring. He was awarded the Max Kaminsky Trophy as the OHL’s Most Outstanding Defenseman, the Leo Lalonde Trophy as the OHL’s Overage Player of the Year, he was named to the OHL First All-Star Team, and was also named to the Memorial Cup All-Star Team. Darren signed his first professional contract with with the Chicago Blackhawks AHL affiliate, the Rockford IceHogs as a free agent in the summer of 2017. He will make his professional debut with the Rockford IceHogs, in the 2017-18 season.
