A native of Farmington Hills, Michigan, Alex is a dynamic offensive player for the Chicago Blackhawks. In his first three seasons in the OHL, he posted three consecutive 50-plus goal and 100-plus point seasons. In 2014-15, he was named CHL and OHL Rookie of the Year, and named to the OHL First All-Rookie Team. Alex was a top-rated prospect for the 2016 NHL Entry Draft, and was selected 39th overall in the 2nd round by the Chicago Blackhawks. During the 2016-17 season, Alex led the OHL scoring, he registered careers highs with 65 goals, 62 assists, 127 points and a plus 60 rating. He was awarded the Eddie Powers Trophy for leading the OHL in points, the Jim Mahon Trophy as the OHL’s Top Scoring Right Winger, and the Red Tilson Trophy as the OHL’s Most Outstanding Player. Alex won the 2017 OHL Championship as a member of the Erie Otters, he was named to the OHL First All-Star Team, and was also named to the Memorial Cup All-Star Team. Alex is currently in his second year as a right winger with the Chicago Blackhawks. In his first season with the team he posted 28 goals and 24 assists making for a 52 point season.

Internationally, Alex represented the United States at the 2016 World Junior Championship in Helsinki, winning a bronze medal.
