Jeff Jackson joined the Orr Hockey Group as a partner in November, 2012. Immediately prior to joining Orr Hockey, Jackson was the principal of his own successful player agency, find Next Level Sports Management. With over 30 years of experience in the game of hockey, Jeff’s unique background, first as a player, then as an NHL team front office executive and now, as an NHLPA certified agent and family advisor, enables him to provide players and their families with practical and insightful advice that will help them best pursue their hockey and educational goals.

As a player, Jackson played major junior hockey in the Ontario Hockey League during which time he was a two-time OHL All-Star, was a nominee for the OHL Scholastic Player of the Year award and won a Gold medal as a member of Canada’s National Junior team at the 1985 World Junior Hockey Championships in Helsinki, Finland.

Jeff was the 28th overall selection in the 1983 NHL Entry Draft by the Toronto Maple Leafs and went on to play a total of 269 NHL games for Toronto, New York Rangers, Quebec Nordiques and Chicago Blackhawks.

Following his retirement from professional hockey, Jackson attended law school at Western University and interned for the NHL’s Senior VP of Hockey Operations in New York. Following his graduation, Jeff joined Heenan Blaikie LLP, one of Canada’s largest national law firms. During his eight years at that firm, Jackson practiced corporate law and was an integral member of Heenan Blaikie’s Entertainment and Sports law group.

In 2006, Jeff left the practice of law to join the front office of the Toronto Maple Leafs and was subsequently named the team’s Assistant General Manager and Director of Hockey Operations. His responsibilities with the Maple Leafs included, among other things, player contract negotiations, salary cap planning and management and player personnel decisions. Jeff spent considerable time scouting talent in North America and Europe and was largely responsible for the implementation and growth of the team’s player development program. During his time with the Leafs’ organization, Jackson also served as the General Manager and Governor of the Toronto Marlies, the American Hockey League affiliate of the Maple Leafs.

Jeff was called to the Ontario Bar in 1998 and is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada. He sits on the Board of Directors of the NHL Alumni Association and is a past Vice President of the Toronto Maple Leaf Alumni Association. He is also a member of Respect in Sport’s Advisory Board and has been a guest speaker at Harvard University, Osgoode Hall law school and the NHL Alumni’s Career Transition program.

He currently resides in Burlington, Ontario with his wife Lara and children, Savanna, Liam, Owen and Luke.
